I am an interaction designer and researcher interested in designing and rigorously investigating systems, services and products that can affect people, societies and cultures in profound ways. I am invested in design that positively impact the human condition with respect to (i) everyday personal growth, enjoyment and meaning (ii) as well as long-term needs associated with social and environmental sustainability. I research several themes related to this mission including sustainable interaction design, designerly methods, and design for everyday life. My background spans anthropology, informatics, and interaction design. I recently graduated with a M.S. in Human-Computer Interaction / Design from Indiana University. Currently, I am working as a Fulbright scholar in the design department at the Queensland College of Art in Brisbane, Australia.

David Roedl and I won 1st place in the 2008 interface design portion of the Imagine Cup in Paris, France. We iterated through a 24 hour design challenge and presented to a panel of esteemed judges. We also later presented the Energy Challenge Competition concept and design. Check out some of the local press coverage.
I recently returned from the CHI conference where my paper on personal inventories and human-product relationships won first place in the graduate student research competition. Also, our Green Day session paper received coverage from the local Italian press.
Our EcoViz was accepted to OZCHI.
Just made the move to Brisbane to start work as a Fulbright scholar.
Look for my upcoming article on Personal Inventories in the Sept/Oct issue of Interactions.
